Red dry
A Grand Cru Burgundy wine crafted by Michel Gros – one of the most renowned winemakers of the Côte de Nuits, celebrated for his precision and ability to express the true essence of terroir. This wine comes from the heart of the legendary Clos de Vougeot vineyard, where the soil and microclimate combine to create an exceptional harmony of depth, structure, and elegance.
In the glass, it reveals notes of ripe black cherries, plums, blackberries, and violets, accompanied by hints of sandalwood, musk, tobacco, and delicate spices. The bouquet is deeply complex and refined, reflecting the classic depth of Clos Vougeot and the sophistication of Burgundy.
On the palate, this wine is concentrated, rich yet elegant, with silky tannins and perfectly balanced acidity. Layers of dark fruit, cherry liqueur, spices, and oak dominate, while nuances of earth, truffle, licorice, and a touch of smoke unfold at the core. The finish is long, mineral, and refined.
The vines grow in the central part of Clos de Vougeot, at 250–270 meters above sea level, on a mosaic of limestone, clay, and brown marl soils. This site imparts the wine with firm structure, fine tannins, and exceptional aging potential.
Serve: at a temperature of 16–17 °C, with duck breast with cherry sauce, beef Wellington, or mature Comté cheese.
The roots of Domaine Michel Gros, located in Vosne-Romanée, trace back to 1830 when the first member of the Gros family settled here and established their estate in the very heart of the Côte de Nuits. Subsequent generations continued to expand the estate's holdings with dedication, which today encompass 23 hectares. The estate's distinctive pride is the Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Clos des Réas," which the Gros family has owned as a monopole since its acquisition in 1860. Today, Pierre Gros, the seventh generation of this winemaking dynasty, supported by his father Michel, continues and develops the work begun by their ancestors. Passionate yet rigorous, Pierre constantly oversees the creation of his wines, meticulously controlling all stages of production – from vine cultivation to bottling.

Aging and Drinking Period
Domaine Michel Gros wines exhibit excellent balance and elegance, allowing them to be enjoyed both young and mature. The Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Clos des Réas" and other high-end red wines possess great potential for long aging, during which their complexity, subtle tannins, and elegant aromas unfold. The white wines are often fresh and enjoyable in their youth, although some higher-end ‘Chardonnay’ can also gain further complexity with bottle aging.
