Bodegas Protos is one of the oldest and most authoritative wineries in the Ribera del Duero region, widely regarded as a historical cornerstone of the appellation. Founded in 1927, well before Ribera del Duero received official DO status, the name Protos (from Greek, meaning “first”) symbolizes its pioneering role in the region. Bodegas Protos was among the key initiators that helped shape Ribera del Duero into a world-class region for high-quality red wines. Today, it is an internationally recognized producer, exporting its wines to more than 100 countries and successfully combining long-standing tradition with modern winemaking. Franz Haas Winery – a synonym for elegance and heights since 1880. Franz Haas is a historic Italian winery from the Alto Adige region, founded in 1880. Today, the winery is run by the seventh generation of the family, continuing long-standing traditions and creating wines that are famous not only for their quality but also for their unique style. The family philosophy is to combine terroir authenticity, innovation and art in order to create wines that reflect the character of the mountains and the uniqueness of Alto Adige. One of the main distinctive features of the Franz Haas winery is the vineyards planted from 240 to even 1,150 meters above sea level. Such altitudes are rare in Italy, but they allow the cultivation of grapes that produce: Long-lasting wines with firm acidity Wines with bright aromatic profiles Mineral, elegant red and white wines These conditions allow the creation of wines that retain their freshness even after many years of aging. Soil diversity – a natural guarantee of complexity Franz Haas vineyards stretch across different soils: from sand and gravel to fine clay and calcium-rich soil. This diversity allows winemakers to play with texture, structure and aromas, obtaining a subtle character of wines that reflect the microclimate of each area. Gramona is one of the most prestigious Spanish sparkling wine producers, with over a century of viticultural tradition in the Penedès region of Catalonia. The family winery has become famous for its commitment to quality, ecology and the philosophy of long-aged wines. Organic vineyards and biodynamic philosophy Gramona vineyards are cultivated organically and biodynamically, respecting the principles of nature. The family's approach to viticulture is based on a belief in the cycles of the moon and the influence of the universe on the soil and vines. History and tradition: from 1881 to today In 1945, Bartomeu and Josep Lluís Gramona began a new era in winemaking - they were the first to establish the concept of long-aged sparkling wines in Spain. In 1951, the first Gramona III Lustros was created, released in 1961. In 2021 The Gramona family celebrated 100 years as a sparkling wine producer and 140 years as a grape grower. Today, the Gramona story is continued by the fifth and sixth generations – Jaume, Roc and Leonard Gramona – following the principles of sustainability and quality. Traditional method and exceptional quality Gramona wines are produced using the traditional method (Méthode Traditionnelle), identical to champagne production, and their maturation period ranges from 18 months to even 12 years – more than double the standard Cava requirements. What makes Gramona sparkling wines stand out? In addition to the traditional Cava grapes (Xarel·lo, Macabeo, Parellada), they also use Chardonnay, which gives it an elegant and international style. Taste: aromas of nuts, freshly baked pastries and autolysis (yeast decomposition). Naturally low in sugar, but with a balanced and delicate acidity. A new generation of quality: Corpinnat After a long-standing commitment to improving Cava’s reputation, in 2019 Gramona left the official DO Cava designation of origin and became one of the founding members of the Corpinnat association. Corpinnat means “born in the heart” and represents the highest quality sparkling wines produced exclusively in the Penedès region, following strict organic production and long-term maturation requirements.

The Vajra family has farmed Bricco delle Viole, the highest cru in Comune di Barolo, since the 1880s. At the young age of fifteen, Aldo Vajra embraced the dream to revive his family legacy. Displaying a vision and commitment belying his young age he took over the estate in 1968, turning a new page.Aldo soon acquired the first organic certification of the region (1971), created private biotype selections (selezioni massali) of Nebbiolo and Dolcetto, pioneered the renaissance of Freisa, a noble yet forgotten local grape (1980) and the cultivation of Rhine Riesling in Piemonte (1985).Today, the Vajra family continues the vineyard research focusing on the influence of soil and climate change. Founded in 1858 by English immigrant Edward Tyrrell, Tyrrell's Wines is one of Australia's most famous family-owned wineries. The family's vineyards stretch from its historic home in the Hunter Valley near Sydney to the Limestone Coast and Heathcote. Run by fourth-generation family member Bruce Tyrrell, the winery produces some of Australia's most awarded wines, including the iconic "Vat 1 Semillon." The Hunter Valley's sandy, alluvial soil is ideal for white grape growing. There are 11 vineyards in the region that are more than 100 years old, 7 of which belong to the Tyrrell family. Tyrrell's is one of the founding members of Australia's First Families of Wine. Since 1971, Tyrrell's has won more than 5,000 trophies and medals, and was named Winery of the Year by James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion in 2010. Wine Style Tyrrell's Wines are characterized by the distinct character of the region and grape varieties. The winery's philosophy is one of minimal intervention, aiming to reveal the natural uniqueness of the vineyards. White Wine: Tyrrell's is particularly renowned for its "Semillon," which is known for its freshness, minerality, and ability to age gracefully. They also produce high-quality "Chardonnay" wines, characterized by complexity and elegance. Red Wine: Tyrrell's "Shiraz" wines are known for their richness, fruitiness, and smooth tannins. The winery also produces other red wines that reflect the specific characteristics of different regions and grape varieties. Prestigious Vineyards Tyrrell's Wines owns several prestigious vineyards, which are among the oldest and most highly regarded in the Hunter Valley region: "Vat 1 Vineyard": This vineyard is the source of the iconic "Vat 1 Semillon." "HVD Vineyard": One of the oldest "Chardonnay" vineyards in Australia. "Old Hillside Vineyard": The oldest "Shiraz" vineyard. "Sacred Sites Vineyard": Vineyards that grow the highest quality grapes. These prestigious vineyards are complemented by other smaller vineyards, each with its own unique characteristics, located in various regions of Australia. Aging and Drinking Period Tyrrell's Wines are known for their excellent balance between freshness and complexity, making them enjoyable both young and aged.
