Raudonasis sausas
The Hunter Valley Shiraz was made from grapes grown on some of the top blocks on the Tyrrell’s estate and surrounding area, which have an average vine age of 40 years and are mostly dry grown.
The Hunter Valley Shiraz is made to the same high standards that winery's flagship Vat 9 Shiraz receives. The fruit was destemmed, but not crushed, to ensure as many whole berries as possible made it to the fermenter. The wine was then matured in older, large format French oak casks. These 2,700L casks highlight the fruit purity whilst making sure that oak isn’t the dominant character.
A modern, medium-bodied Australian Shiraz. The nose shows bright red fruits and savoury spice, which follows onto the palate. Primary, bright fruits balanced by soft, savoury tannins and a crunchy acidity adds to the wines complexity.
Serve at 16-18 °C with roast beef with peppers, hamburger with pulled pork or longer-aged cheeses.
Founded in 1858 by English immigrant Edward Tyrrell, Tyrrell's Wines is one of Australia's most famous family-owned wineries. The family's vineyards stretch from its historic home in the Hunter Valley near Sydney to the Limestone Coast and Heathcote.
Run by fourth generation family member Bruce Tyrrell, the winery produces some of Australia's most awarded wines including the iconic Vat 1 Semillon.
The Hunter Valley's sandy, alluvial soil is ideal for white grapes. There are 11 vineyards in the region that are more than 100 years old, 7 of which belong to the Tyrrell family.
Tyrrell's is one of the founding members of Australia's First Families of Wine.
Since 1971, Tyrrell's has won more than 5 000 trophies and medals, and was named Wine of the Year by James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion in 2010.
