Description

Reblochon de Savoie AOP is a French soft washed-rind cheese made from unpasteurized cow’s milk in the Haute-Savoie region of the French Alps. It is a protected designation of origin cheese, matured for at least 3 weeks, typically around 4 weeks, in caves or humid stone cellars. During maturation, the rind is washed with whey every two days, giving it a light brown colour and a thin layer of white mould.

On the palate, this cheese has a creamy texture, gentle butteriness, and a fruity, nutty character, with a finish reminiscent of hazelnuts. Reblochon is softer than ‘Brie’, richer and more aromatic, with a more pronounced herbal note on the nose. As the cheese matures, the interior becomes softer and the flavour deeper and more expressive.

For serving, we recommend taking it out of the refrigerator 30–60 minutes before tasting to allow its creaminess and aromas to fully develop. Reblochon de Savoie pairs well with rustic bread, boiled potatoes, or cured ham. In terms of wine, it matches well with softer red wines from Bordeaux, as well as more mature Burgundian ‘Pinot Noir’.
