Sparkling dry
For lovers of exceptional Rosé Champagne, the Eric Rodez Rosé Ambonnay Grand Cru is a true standout, offering a captivating blend of power and finesse. This Champagne embodies Eric Rodez's mastery, showcasing the depth of Ambonnay's Grand Cru terroir.
This exquisite NV Brut Rosé Grand Cru Ambonnay unwinds in the glass to reveal enticing aromas of crisp red apples, fresh apricots, and citrus oil. It’s medium to full-bodied, incisive, and delicately phenolic on the palate, concluding with a saline finish that leaves a lasting impression.
This Brut Rosé is a thoughtful blend of ‘Pinot Noir’ and ‘Chardonnay’: with 75% ‘Pinot Noir’ having spent time on the skins for color and texture, 30% direct press ‘Pinot Noir’, and 25% ‘Chardonnay’ for freshness and elegance. Just over half of the blend is comprised of reserve wines, adding complexity and consistency, with the same amount undergoing malolactic fermentation to soften the acidity.
Most of the wines are fermented and aged in small oak barrels, contributing to its rich character. The grapes are sourced from vineyards with an average age of 40 years, within the prestigious Grand Cru Ambonnay commune. This Champagne benefits from 3 years of aging on yeast sediment in bottles, allowing its flavors to integrate and develop beautifully before release.
Dosage 4.5(g/l)
Serve at 8-12 °C with oysters, seafood, fish dishes and eggs benedict.
Light salmon pink, delicate copper reflections, very fine mousseux. Nuances of raspberries and pickled red cherries, delicately reminiscent of quince, some biscuit in the background. Medium-bodied, white apple, taut and tight-knit, fine acid structure, almost bone-dry in the finish, a multi-faceted accompaniment to food.
Eric Rodez – an eighth-generation grape grower, is based in the kingdom of ‘Pinot Noir’ grapes, the village of Ambonnay, classified as a top Grand Cru. His estate spans just 6 hectares of mature vineyards, from which about 40,000 bottles of champagne are produced annually. Nearly 80 percent of the wine's primary fermentation takes place in Burgundian oak barrels, and a large proportion (around 70%) of reserve wines are used for the champagnes.
The Eric Rodez Champagne house is characterized by sustainability and responsibility towards nature and future generations. They completely avoid herbicides and pesticides, and the vineyards are managed according to organic and biodynamic principles. A minimal amount of sulfites is used, and even some champagne production choices are driven by their environmental friendliness (which is why malolactic fermentation is not blocked).
