An exceptional rosé wine that embodies the mastery of Provence and the long-standing traditions of Domaine Ott, dating back to 1896. One of the most renowned and recognizable rosé wines in the world – subtle, pure, and refined, crafted from meticulously selected grapes grown in organically farmed vineyards.
Château de Selle is a historic Domaine Ott estate, located on rocky limestone slopes near the village of Taradeau in the Var department. The dry, sunny climate, refreshing winds, and wide temperature variations give this wine a distinctive balance of brightness, elegance, and structure.
This rosé is made from classic Provençal grape varieties – ‘Grenache’, ‘Cinsault’, ‘Syrah’, and ‘Mourvèdre’. Each brings its own contribution: ‘Grenache’ provides fruit and juiciness, ‘Cinsault’ adds delicacy, ‘Syrah’ lends aromatic depth, and ‘Mourvèdre’ contributes structure and longevity.
On the nose, it reveals delicate notes of white peach, citrus zest, strawberry, rose petals, and fresh herbs, complemented by subtle hints of sea breeze and minerality. The aroma is refined, clean, and inviting, evoking the spirit of a Provençal summer in a glass.
On the palate, it is a pure, dry, and precise rosé, balancing red fruit freshness, citrus brightness, and a saline minerality that adds clarity and verticality. The texture is soft yet vibrant, with a long, chalky, and elegant finish.
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve the wine’s fruit precision and freshness, while a small portion is aged briefly on fine lees to develop a subtle creaminess and rounded texture.
