This outstanding wine comes from the harvest with the legendary vineyard Achleiten, located in the village of Weißenkirchen. It is famous for wines with a unique mineral character. The wine has aromas of white pepper, mango and clementine with dense palate, well-balanced acidity and long savory finish. Dry stone walls surrounding vineyards and maintain steep slopes with rich silicate soils. In Smaragd classification included complex, rich wines from the Wachau with excellent storage potential.

Serving recommendations

Serve chilled at about 9-11 °C. It goes well with a variety of fish dishes such as for example, a fried Branzino with asparagus risotto or a hearty Frutti di Mare pizza as well as typical Austrian dishes such as rissoles with mashed potatoes or a boiled beef with apple horseradish and chive sauce. Domane Wachau, led by Roman Horvath MW and Heinz Frischengruber, has developed into one of the top wineries in Austria, with an excellent range of Wachau wines that beautifully reflect origin. The history of the vineyards of the cooperative has been known since 1137. The small vineyard plots in the steep terraces along the Danube river are cultivated by vintner families – the true heroes of the winery – through their intensive manual work. Craftsmanship, sustainability, and the unique biodiversity are the pillars of the vineyards that Domane Wachau manages. Dry climate of Pannonia and the air flows from the Atlantic formed the special microclimate conditions in the Wachau Valley. Here every single vineyard has its own microclimate.
