White dry
This wine reflects Eric Texier’s philosophy: to work with a natural, terroir-driven expression, avoiding excessive oak influence and allowing the vineyard soils to speak. The grapes are grown on granite and sandy slopes, giving the wine freshness, minerality, and a subtle structural frame.
Aroma – clean, fresh, and modernly elegant. Notes of lemon zest, white peach, and barely ripe apple intertwine with delicate hints of brioche, herbal nuances, and wet stone accents. The nose carries a chalky, saline minerality.
On the palate, the wine is dry and medium-bodied, with a bright, vertical acidity and a smooth, almost creamy texture. Flavours of citrus energy and gentle green stone fruits lead into a long, saline finish evocative of sea salt. It balances youthful vibrancy with discreet elegance.
The grapes are cultivated at an altitude of approximately 300–350 m on granite and sandy soils, which contribute not only minerality but also a lively structural tension. The Ardèche climate helps preserve natural acidity, giving “Adèle” both freshness and subtle concentration.
Fermentation takes place in neutral vessels using wild yeasts, without oak influence. A 6–8-month maturation on fine lees adds further texture and aromatic depth.
Serve at 10–12 °C with white fish with herbs, goat cheese salad, or grilled vegetables.
Eric Texier is renowned for his 12 hectares of vineyards located on both banks of the Rhône River (on the left bank in the Brézème appellation, on what is virtually the only limestone hill in the region, and on the right bank in the granite soil of the Ardèche appellation) and in the Ouvèze river valley. Working with two different terroirs, Eric strives to reveal every nuance of their expression. Therefore, his ideal is well-ripened, expressive grapes that have not accumulated too much sugar, and as much freshness as possible. The wine is aged in large, old barrels or concrete tanks that do not alter the flavor. As a faithful student of the Beaujolais winemaker J. Chauvet, Eric Texier naturally waits for spontaneous fermentation, with the must containing stems. He adds sulfites only if necessary before bottling, and does not filter or clarify the wine. In the vineyard, Eric is not inclined to follow Rudolf Steiner's philosophy because he believes him to have held racist views. E. Texier is satisfied with ecological regulations and additionally sows vegetables between the rows of vines, which he rolls down in May when they have grown, thus fertilizing the soil.
