Viré Clessé Mâcon Villages is produced from Chardonnay vines with an average age of about 50 years. After a manual harvest at optimal maturity, the bunches are gently pressed and the juices fermented naturally in stainless steel vats.
Serve at 10-12 °C shellfish, frogs, snails, white meats or goat cheeses.
The Domaine was founded in 1956 by André Bonhomme and his wife Gisèle. The surface was then 4 ha of Macon Viré, the appellation of the time, coming from his father Joseph Bonhomme. Today, André Bonhomme handed over to his son-in-law Eric Palthey and his daughter Jacqueline, both joined by their sons Aurélien and Johan. The estate carries out its activity in organic viticulture on some 14 ha located on the clay-limestone soils of the communes of Viré and Clessé for a production exclusively in bottles of 98% white wines and 2% reds.We find in white the Chardonnay grape variety and in red the Gamay.
