Red dry
The oldest Italian wine appellation, with its first official mention dating back to 1398, this Chianti today is an excellent example of classic red wine from Tuscany. The light ruby-colored wine reveals aromas of strawberries, raspberries, and delicate spices. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, yet elegant and subtle in character. The finish highlights notes of cherry. The wine is made from organically grown ‘Sangiovese’ grapes, which are hand-harvested in vineyards with sandstone, sandy, and silty soils typical of the Chianti Classico region. After harvesting, vinification takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks. The vineyard is located approximately 610 meters above sea level, making this estate one of the highest-altitude wineries in the Chianti region. The wine originates in the 11th-century historic village complex of Volpaia, belonging to the municipality of Radda in Chianti, and is aged for 12–18 months in both large oak barrels and small French oak barriques.
