Red wine dry
Inspired by a love for nature and a passion for music, the Sacred Love IGT Red Merlot produced by Sting's Il Palagio estate emerges as a red wine that seduces from the first sip. This Merlot stands out for its elegance and complexity, reflecting the uniqueness of the Tuscan terroir.
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, followed by maturation in French oak barrels for a period ranging from 12 to 15 months before bottling. On the nose, it opens with intense aromas of ripe fruit such as plums and blackberries, enriched by hints of dark chocolate, vanilla, and a light spicy touch of black pepper. On the palate, the wine is velvety and full-bodied, with well-integrated tannins and an aromatic persistence.
Serve at 16-18 °C with red meat dishes, games dishes, matured cheeses.
This is a new merlot from Trudie and Sting that shows impressive aromas of violets, blackberries, and violets. Then it goes to slate and dark earth. It changes and seduces with every whiff. Full-bodied yet very poised and tight with polished and caressing tannins. Finishes long and delicious. Fantastic first release. So attractive, ready to drink but better in three or four years.
Tenuta Il Palagio is a winery located south of Florence in the hills of Tuscany. Here it overlooks the small towns of Figline and Incisa Valdarno. The estate was originally built in the 16th century.
Today it belongs to singer Sting and his wife Trudie Styler. The winery has since grown into a complete agricultural operation, so today you will also find fruit and olive groves. The products are sold in the farm's own organic store.
The oenologist Paolo Cacíorgna is responsible for the wines of the house, to which he brings his long experience gained, for example, in France and California. The team is completed by Alan York, a consultant who specializes in biodynamic farming methods and is known worldwide in this field.
