The wines of Chateau Rauzan-Segla express, first and foremost, the internationally recognised characteristics of the Margaux terroir: an elegant, fragrant bouquet, lots of taste on the palate, a well-balanced structure and very great elegance. But beyond these recognisable features, there is the individual signature of the Chateau. A deep robe with a sparkle of the future, a texture that is velvet smooth, an elegant palate on which the characteristics of the grapes burst forth, together with touches if violet in some vintages.
Serve at 16-18 °C with red meat, wild poultry dishes with mushroms
A firm and linear wine with crushed stone and some citrusy acidity, Medium body, creamy tannins and a fresh finish. Lively at the end. Currant, blackberry and fresh tobacco in the aftertaste. 75% cabernet sauvignon.
Chateau Rauzan-Segla tops the list of manufacturers in their class, and around Bordeaux is second only to recognized grants, such as Chateau Latour, Chateau Margaux, Chateau Haut-Brion and Mouton Rothschild. Chateau Rauzan-Segla always had a reputation potentially excellent wine producer, but since the early 80s proved it in practice, began releasing a series of wines of the highest quality, which has continued to do. History of Rauzan-Segla began under King Louis XIV in 1661, when Pierre de Rauzan became the owner of the estate. Pierre was very rich and powerful man with an excellent reputation among wine merchants Bordeaux region. For many years, generations of families Rosanne successfully managed the estate, turning it into a prosperous and thriving winery.
