Brandy is one of the types of spirit drink produced by distilling the fermented juice or pomace of grapes or other fruits. Brandy is clear after distillation, so it acquires all its aromatic, flavour and appearance characteristics from maturation in oak casks. Brandy is known and loved for its complexity - fruit, wood, spice and especially vanilla notes. The maturity of brandies is marked with a special label - VS (2 years); VSOP (4 years); XO (10 years).
Some of the most famous brandies - Armagnac, Cognac and Brandy itself - are made in France, but brandies made in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Germany and elsewhere are also widely known.
