Clean as a whistle blackberry fruit is impressive in the nose, and the wine is luxuriant on the palate, but with a silky tannin structure and very precise acidity that renders it fresh and dynamic into the finish.
Serve at 16-18 °C with filet of venison, or wildfowl such as pheasant or partridge – accompanied by spicy red cabbage with juniper, bay leaves and black pepper.
Winery Gerhard Markowitsch is located in the Carnuntum region. This region is characterized by an arid climate with relatively little rainfall. The total area of vineyards is 39 hectares, they grow traditional grape varieties for this region: Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Gruner Veltliner, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
