Description

The soil consist of well-drained gravels and clay gravels. Grape varieties: Sauvignon 80% - Semillon 20% with average age of the vineyard 31 years old.Vinification: slow pressing, cold stabilization and fermentation in barrels (20-22°C). Ageing: on lees with bâtonnage in traditional French oak barrels, new oak 50%.Château Malartic-Lagravière white 2017 offers a superb aromatic expression, revealing a brilliant purity of fruit. Luscious Sémillon (20%) lends the wine notes of exotic fruit, while Sauvignon Blanc (80%) brings a freshness of citrus and hints of fresh grass. On the palate, the frank attack emphasises the lively tension of this wine, which brings forth a beautiful texture, combining density and balance, while also preserving a delicious fruity touch. A superb representation of this new vintage.Best enjoyed: 2021 – 2029.

Serving recommendations

Serve at 10-12 °C with fatty fish, poultry in cream sauce, soft cheeses, fried green vegetables.

Attractive, fresh-lemon and grassy nuances with wild herbs and slightly flinty elements, too. The palate has such intense and fresh acidity. Fine lemons and limes and a thrillingly dry, long finish. Drink now, but better in three years.

About brand

Domaine de Lagravière, recognized since time immemorial for its excellent terroir, was purchased at the end of the eighteenth century by the family of Count Hippolyte de Maurès de Malartic. Serving the armies of the Kings of France, this Admiral fought against the English on the many seas of the world, showing special bravery in 1756 during the battle of Quebec.
