The Scharzhofberg vineyard lies on the southern slopes of the Saarland valley, 35-60% steep. Here the soil consists of loess and gray and pink slate up to 70%. This is one of the world’s most prestigious terroirs. This Riesling has a fine vein of flint and gooseberry as well as a delicate mouthfeel and that very typical fine saline note that many Scharzhofberger share.
