Red wine dry
Unlitro is produced from a blend of Alicante, Carignano, Mourvèdre, Sangiovese and Alicante Bouschet grapes coming from the youngest vineyards close to the sea. It reflects our desire to express the territory in a lighter and more immediate way, without losing any of its character. This led winemaker to come up with the name "Unlitro" and a bottle of a shape and size that conjures up the joy and carefreeness of being together. The wine in aged for 6 months in concrete tanks and displays intense aromas and an immediate intense and harmonious mouth, characterized by an explosion of fruit laced with delicate balsamic and spicy notes.
Serve at 14-16 °C. The wine is perfect with roasted meat and game cooked on the grill.
The fresh flowers come through nicely on the nose with some sour cherries, too. It's light-bodied, crunchy and fresh with dried lemons to the red fruits. Light nutmeg at the end. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification.
Ampeleia was established in 2002, the year in which Marco Tait, young and impulsive at the time, answered the call of the current owners, Elisabetta Foradori and Giovanni Podini, to take charge of the first harvest, without being fully aware of what he was getting involved in. Marco, fresh out of oenology and viticulture school, had been enchanted by the call of the Maremma and he and Elisabetta had known each other for a while. Ampeleia is wine, of course. But it is also wheat and oil. It is vineyard, but also vegetable garden and olive groves. It is people, but also animals. It is high and it is low, it is small and it is large. It is work and opportunity for both professional and personal growth.
