Balanso, elegancijos ir gaivos ambasadorius iš Ribera Del Duero. Vynas - keturių atskirų vynuogynų mišinys, augančių dumblino molio dirvožemyje, 780 mvlj aukštyje. Derlius renkamas ankstyvais rytais ir tik rankomis, du kartus rūšiuojamas. Fermentacija ir maceracija vyko 16 dienų nuolat palaikant 28 °C temperatūrą. Po fermentacijos vynas laikytas prancūziško ąžuolo statinėse 2 mėnesius, kiekvieną šio laikotarpio savaitę atliekant 'batonnage' - vyno mielių maišymą. Vynas 22 mėn. brandintas prancūziško ąžuolo statinėse( 70% iš jų naujos). Vidutinio intensyvumo vynas kvepia gervuogėmis, raudonaisiais serbentais, juodosiomis slyvomis, kedro riešutais, saldymedžiu, juodaisiais pipirais, muskato riešutu. Švelnaus ilgo poskonio.
Patiekti 16-18 °C temperatūros prie vidutinio intensyvumo kietųjų sūrių bei mėsos patiekalų, tokių kaip dešrelių, burgerių bei steiko.
A lovely brightness and juiciness to this with cherry, spice, and crushed stone. Some tar. Medium-bodied with chewy tannins that have a dusty undertone. Tannic and typical for Duero. Already attractive if you like tannins, but this will soften nicely with two or three more years of bottle age. Try after 2025.
"La Rioja Alta" can be called the representatives of the old Rioja, because the winery adheres to the traditional winemaking methods of the region. Gran Reserva wine is kept in barrels for up to 6 years and in the bottle for another couple of years before it reaches the final consumer. The vineyards of "La Rioja Alta" are located at a high altitude. Due to such conditions, the wine somewhat resembles Burgundy Pinot Noir wines. The La Rioja Alta group also owns wineries in the regions of Galicia (Rias Baixas) and Ribera del Duero (Burgos).
