Red dry
Markowitsch Göttlesbrunn Rot Carnuntum 2021 - a bright, elegant, robustly structured red wine from Göttlesbrunn - you will find the intensity of fruit and the sophistication of oak in every glass of this wine.
The wine has an intense ruby red color. The aroma is dominated by dark berries: black cherries and black currants, complemented by soft smoky and spicy accents. The taste is rich in fruit concentration, balanced acidity (5.2 g/l) and firm but delicate tannins. Long spicy aftertaste.
The wine is made from two main varieties: 60% Zweigelt and 40% Blaufränkisch. The grapes were hand-picked from mid-to-late September, in several stages to ensure optimal ripeness. Fermentation took place spontaneously with the skins for 14–21 days, maintaining a temperature of 30–32°C. After malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged for 18 months in 500 liter French oak barrels.
Acidity: 5.2 g/l
Residual sugar: 0.9 g/
Serve at 16–18 °C with red meat stews, steaks, grilled sausages, mature cheeses. The best food partner is lamb with rosemary.
A bold and fleshy medium-bodied red with plenty of healthy tannins. Quite some smoky character and a touch of savory, but the fruit is stronger. Quite a firm finish with blackberry seed character. Drink or hold.
