Elegance and structure — that's how wine experts briefly describe this wine. Aged for approximately 18 months in French oak barrels (50% new), the wine boasts a deep ruby colour and an intense, complex aroma unfolding notes of blackberry, liquorice, blackcurrant, black cherry, cedar, coffee and herbs. Powerful on the palate, with abundant polished tannins and a complex flavour that echoes the notes perceived on the nose. An exceptionally long-lasting finish.
Serve at 16–18 °C with beef tenderloin steaks, lamb, game dishes and hard aged cheeses.
A very structured and racy PB with blackcurrant, stone and black cherry aromas and flavors. Medium to full body with racy and fine tannins that are precise and focused. Elegance with structure. 81% cabernet sauvignon and 19% merlot.
The 2022 Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande has turned out even better in bottle than I anticipated, bursting from the glass with aromas of cassis and blackberries mingled with scents of licorice, violets and pencil shavings. Full-bodied, layered and enveloping, it's suave, seamless and complete, with faultless precision, pristine integration of tannin, controlled sweetness and a long, expansive finish. The 2022 manages to unite the sensuality that's the estate's calling card and the ripeness of the vintage on the one hand, with a sense of Pauillac classicism on the other, threading the needle to deliver one of the finest wines of the vintage and a benchmark Pichon Comtesse. It's a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc that spent 18 months in barriques (three months more than was formerly the case), two-thirds of which were new. As I wrote en primeur, there's more than a hint of the 1982 about this wine, and like the 1982, the 2022 will offer an exceptionally wide drinking window. Mar 06, 2025
Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande - vienas svarbiausių "super antrųjų" kairiojo Bordo kranto ūkių. Jam priklauso 78 ha vynuogynų Pauillac apelicijoje, kuriuos sudaro 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc ir 8% Petit Verdot vynmedžių. Ne mažiau nei 40% vynuogynų yra prižiūrima ekologiškais vyndarystės principais, o dalyje taip pat eksperimentuojama ir su biodinamine vyndaryste. Neseniai atnaujintoje vyninėje yra įrengta 70 skirtingo dydžio nerūdijančio plieno fermentavimo talpų, kurios leidžia labai tiksliai fermentuoti atskirų vynuogynų plotelių žaliavą. Po fermentacijos Pichon Lalande vidutiniškai 18 mėnesių yra brandinamas prancūziško ąžuolo statinėse, kurių 50% kiekvienais metais pakeičiama naujomis. Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande yra vienas subtiliausių ir "švelniausių" kairiojo kranto klasifikuotų ūkių, greičiausiai, dėl pakankamai didelio Merlot vynuogių kiekio vyne. Nors šio ūkio vynai brandą pasiekia anksčiau nei kitų Grand Cru Classe vyninių vynai, Pichon Lalande geba puikiai bręsti ne vieną dešimtmetį, o atsiskleidęs vynas pasižymi juodų uogų, trumų, juodųjų serbentų, kedro aromatu bei itin glotnia tekstūra.
