Armagnac Darroze Armagnac Domaine de Paguy 2005 0.7 L

Description

This 2005 vintage Armagnac originates from the prestigious "Domaine de Paguy" estate in the highly regarded Bas-Armagnac region, offering a rich, balanced, and mature taste. It is a true reflection of Gascon heritage, perfectly combining the natural fruitiness of the distillate with the complexity imparted by long oak aging.

The aroma reveals bright notes of dried plums, orange peel, caramel, and lightly toasted oak.

On the palate, the spirit is full and silky, coating the mouth with accents of vanilla, cinnamon, and dark chocolate that transition into a long, warming finish.

Best served at room temperature in a tulip glass as a digestif. It pairs perfectly with chocolate desserts, creamy cheeses, or nut-based tarts.

About brand

Darroze in the world of Armagnac stands for far more than quality — it represents a philosophy. It is a family story spanning more than a century and one of the most authentic expressions of the Gascony region.

The story began at the end of the 19th century, when the Darroze family started working with local winegrowers in Gascony. However, it was in the mid-20th century, thanks to Francis Darroze, that the house took on its present identity. He understood that the true value of Armagnac lies not in volume or blending for consistency, but in specific places, soils, vintages, and the human hand behind them.

Darroze Armagnac is never blended to achieve a uniform taste profile. Each bottle reflects a single estate, a single harvest, and a single story. It is a spirit that evolves, matures, and gains complexity with time. For this reason, Darroze is often compared to great wines rather than industrial spirits.

Most Darroze Armagnacs come from the Bas-Armagnac region, considered the most refined and elegant part of the appellation. The sandy and clay-rich soils give the distillates their signature softness, aromatic depth, and long aging potential. Distillation is carried out using the traditional continuous column still, followed by slow, natural maturation in French oak barrels.

Today, Darroze is regarded as one of the most important guardians of traditional Armagnac. Its creations are highly valued by collectors, sommeliers, and spirits enthusiasts around the world.

This is not a mass-produced spirit — it is a living piece of Gascony’s history in a glass.
