Sparkling semi dry
“Bordusco Rouge” is a unique sparkling red wine from Bordeaux, crafted from ‘Gamay’ grapes and inspired by the joyful spirit of Italian Lambrusco. It’s a lively, fruity, and unexpected expression of Bordeaux – a touch of classic elegance wrapped in bubbles.
In the glass, it reveals aromas of ripe raspberries, cherries, and red currants, gently complemented by herbal, spicy, and floral notes. The bouquet is bright, inviting, and slightly playful, lifted by fresh, softly fizzing bubbles.
On the palate, the wine is juicy and refreshingly vibrant. Light-bodied and delicately sparkling, it shows a natural balance of sweetness and acidity. Layers of red berries, jam, and gentle spice unfold into a clean, creamy, and slightly sweet finish.
The grapes grow on clay and limestone slopes, which lend the wine elegance and mineral freshness. This is an experimental yet stylish project, blending Bordeaux’s winemaking tradition with a Southern French sense of creativity and energy.
“Bordusco Rouge” is a wine that invites you to celebrate every day. Light, lively, and effortlessly enjoyable – perfect as an aperitif, for a party, or for a casual evening when you crave something delightfully unexpected from Bordeaux.
Serve at 10–12 °C. Pairs well with: appetizers with dried meat, duck breast with cherry sauce, or roasted pork with vegetables.
Château Prieuré Marquet is a modern Bordeaux estate, located just a few kilometers north of Saint-Émilion. Though it has deep historical roots, the estate’s contemporary identity was shaped by the new ownership, which revitalized the château, its vineyards, and the winemaking philosophy. Today, Château Prieuré Marquet stands as a fusion of elegance, technical precision, and respect for Bordeaux tradition.
The vineyards, situated on rolling clay and limestone slopes surrounding the historic château, offer ideal conditions for ‘Merlot’ and ‘Cabernet Sauvignon’. The higher altitude and balanced climate allow the grapes to achieve perfect ripeness while maintaining freshness and natural acidity.
At the core of Château Prieuré Marquet’s philosophy lies the balance between modern technology and natural craftsmanship. The estate practices sustainable viticulture, with hand-harvested grapes and a gravity-flow winery designed to minimize pumping or mechanical handling. This approach preserves the purity of the fruit and the silky texture of the wine.
Each vineyard plot is vinified separately using indigenous yeasts, and the wine is aged in French oak barrels (around 30% new). This method allows the wines to express both fruit clarity and terroir transparency.
Château Prieuré Marquet wines are defined by a harmonious balance of fruit, structure, and elegance.
Red wine – rich in aromas of plum, blackcurrant, cherry, and cocoa, full-bodied on the palate with smooth tannins, bright acidity, and a long, gently spiced finish.
White wine (limited edition) – subtle and mineral, with notes of citrus, white flowers, and ripe fruit, maintaining a pure and refined style.
The overall profile is modern yet timelessly Bordeaux – wines that offer immediate pleasure in youth while possessing the structure and depth to age gracefully for years.
The estate spans about 30 hectares of vineyards, divided into several small parcels surrounding the château.
Main grape varieties:
‘Merlot’ – the core of structure and softness;
‘Cabernet Sauvignon’ – adds firmness and longevity;
‘Cabernet Franc’ – contributes aromatic finesse.
The limestone-clay soils with sandy inclusions ensure excellent drainage and aromatic clarity, forming the foundation for the estate’s signature balance.
The wines are aged for approximately 12 months in French oak barrels, about one-third of which are new. This aging process results in a refined, delicately oaked profile that enhances depth without overshadowing fruit expression.
Château Prieuré Marquet wines are approachable after just a few years, yet have the potential to age for 10 years or more, gaining depth, velvety texture, and complex secondary aromas over time.
