Red dry
Brigaldara Ripasso Valpolicella Superiore il Vegro 2024 is a classic Valpolicella Ripasso style wine, created using the traditional ripasso method, when already fermented Valpolicella wine is fermented for a second time on Amarone wine marc. This process provides more concentration, structure and aromatic complexity, while maintaining the freshness and elegance characteristic of the best Valpolicella wines.
The aroma reveals notes of ripe cherries, plums, blackberries and dried fruits, complemented by vanilla, sweet spices, tobacco and subtle nuances of wood.
The wine is weighty, concentrated, with a silky texture. The character of ripe black fruits is complemented by soft tannins, fresh acidity and subtle hints of cocoa, tobacco and dried fruits. The aftertaste is long, harmonious and elegant, with a balance of richness and freshness characteristic of the classic Ripasso style.
The grapes are grown in the Valpolicella Classica area, in the hills of Verona. The wine is made from the traditional varieties of the region - 'Corvina', 'Corvinone' and 'Rondinella'. These varieties provide cherry aromas, structure and elegant acidity, which are one of the most important features of high-quality Valpolicella.
After the ripasso fermentation, the wine is aged in wooden barrels, where it gains additional complexity, without losing its fruitiness. Brigaldara is famous for its restrained approach to aging, which is why Il Vegro retains a clear expression of the terroir.
Serve at 16-18 °C with beef steaks, duck breast, slow-braised red meat, pasta with ragù sauce, aged hard cheeses or mushroom dishes.
