This heat allows the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to achieve perfect ripeness. The primary distinguishing feature of the wines from this valley is the gravelly soil, closely resembling the gravel of the Bordeaux region in France. In the glass, Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon bursts with aromas of blackberries, plums, black cherries, and chocolate. However, compared to the neighboring Napa Valley, these wines typically possess softer, rounder tannins and are much more approachable when young.
