Château-Grillet AOC is one of the smallest, rarest, and most prestigious wine appellations in France, located in the Northern Rhône. Crafted exclusively from the Viognier grape, this white wine captivates with its expressive floral aromas, striking minerality, and incredible elegance. It is a true revelation for those seeking exclusivity.

This appellation is extraordinary because it belongs entirely to a single producer (a monopoly). The vineyards, covering just over 3 hectares, are planted on steep granite terraces that form a natural amphitheater. This unique shape protects the vines from cold northern winds and creates a very hot microclimate, allowing the Viognier grapes to ripen perfectly. Meanwhile, the granite bedrock gives the wine its essential tension and firm backbone.
Compared to the neighboring Condrieu appellation, Château-Grillet wines are generally more structured, age-worthy, and tightly wound:
Thanks to its aromatic richness and beautiful texture, Château-Grillet is highly gastronomic. It pairs flawlessly with foie gras, truffles, scallops, lobster, and even slightly spicy, exotic Asian dishes. Looking for a highly unique gift for a wine lover? Due to its minuscule production volume, this bottle will impress even the most seasoned collector.
Unlike the vast majority of Viognier wines globally, which are meant to be drunk young, Château-Grillet is built for the long haul. It can easily age and improve in the cellar for 10 to 15 years, developing deeper, more complex nutty and dried fruit aromas.
To fully appreciate its intricate bouquet of flowers and spices, it is best served not too cold—ideally around 12–14 °C (54–57 °F).
