The Magic of the Deep Lakes

The region is named after its long, finger-like lakes. These deep bodies of water act as natural temperature regulators: in the winter, they protect the vines from fatal freezes, and in the summer, they cool the air to prevent the grapes from over-ripening. As a result, Riesling (both dry and sweet styles) develops incredible aromas of green apples, limes, white flowers, and wet stone (minerality). The region also successfully cultivates Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir, producing elegant, light-to-medium-bodied red wines that closely resemble classic European styles.

Pairing Cool-Climate Wines with Food

Dažniausiai užduodami klausimai

Why is Finger Lakes Riesling so highly acclaimed worldwide?
The region's glacial soils and cool climate create conditions very similar to the top wine regions in Germany. Finger Lakes Riesling stands out for its remarkably pure, crisp acidity, defined minerality, and excellent longevity.

Are these wines suitable for aging?
Yes, particularly the dry and sweet Riesling wines. Thanks to their high acidity, they can be cellared for a decade or more, developing complex aromas of honey, dried apricots, and delicate petrol notes over time.
