The Arneis grape, whose name translates to "little rascal" in the local dialect, was historically used just to soften the region's powerful red wines. Today, it shines brightly on its own. These wines display a pale straw color. Their bouquet is filled with white peaches, pears, apricots, and delicate hints of white flowers and chamomile. On the palate, expect a medium body, refreshing yet smooth acidity, and a distinctive, slightly bitter almond finish.
Roero Arneis is incredibly food-friendly. It perfectly complements light to medium-weight dishes. We highly recommend pairing it with white fish, seafood risotto, vegetable-based soups, or mild poultry. When exploring our cheese selection, soft ricotta or a young Pecorino make excellent companions.
Usually, no. Most winemakers prefer to preserve the grape's natural freshness and crisp fruit aromas, opting for fermentation and short aging in stainless steel tanks.
Roero Arneis is best enjoyed young, typically within 1 to 3 years of the vintage, to capture its vibrant, fresh fruit character.
