The Breeze of Abruzzo's Mountains and Sea in a Glass

The Abruzzo region stands out with its dramatic landscape—from the high Apennine mountains down to the Adriatic coast. This contrast allows the Trebbiano grapes to preserve their vibrant acidity and freshness. While for a long time this white wine was considered just a simple everyday beverage, today's top Abruzzo winemakers are proving that old vines can yield highly complex, mineral-driven masterpieces capable of long aging, scented with apples, hazelnuts, and meadow herbs.

The Perfect Companion for Seafood and Light Snacks

Thanks to its unpretentious freshness and subtle minerality, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo is an indispensable gastronomic companion. It is a classic wine for fish, pairing flawlessly with fried seafood, calamari, fresh salads, mild cheeses, and risotto. This light and elegant wine is ideal for a hot summer day or as a pleasant aperitif while waiting for guests to arrive.

Is Trebbiano d'Abruzzo a simple or complex wine?
This wine can be both. It is most commonly found on the market as a very light, refreshing, and everyday wine. However, premium producers (such as the famous Valentini) craft powerful, barrel-aged, and incredibly complex Trebbiano wines that rank alongside the world's best whites.

What is the aging potential of this white wine?
Basic wines show their fruitiness best when tasted as young as possible, within 1 to 3 years of the vintage. However, top-tier, old-vine Trebbiano can age in a cellar for 10 or even 15 years.

At what temperature is it best tasted?
To experience the wine's full freshness and crispness, serve it well-chilled, at around 8–10 °C. More complex and oak-aged versions can be served slightly warmer—around 10–12 °C.
