Vougeot Premier Cru is the perfect companion for classic French cuisine. It pairs beautifully with roasted duck, pheasant, beef tenderloin, or truffle-infused dishes. For cheese, opt for washed-rind cow’s milk cheeses like Époisses or Cîteaux, which you can find in our cheese selection.
Yes, these wines have excellent aging potential. Top vintages are recommended to be cellared for 10–20 years to allow the tannins to fully soften and complex tertiary aromas to develop.
Although famous for red Pinot Noir, the appellation also produces a tiny but highly acclaimed amount of white Chardonnay (such as the legendary Le Clos Blanc de Vougeot), known for its freshness and almond notes.
Younger wines (up to 7–10 years) benefit from about an hour of decanting. Mature wines should only be carefully poured to separate the sediment right before serving, preserving their delicate aromas.
