Fortified sweet
Bodegas Valdespino Moscatel Promesa Jerez - Promesa is a rich sweet sherry made from 100% Moscatel de Alejandría grapes grown in sandy soils near the Atlantic Ocean. These conditions help preserve the aromas and freshness of the grapes, which become the distinctive features of this wine.
After harvesting, the grapes are briefly dried in the sun to concentrate the natural sugars and aromatic substances. The wine is then aged for about 8 years in the traditional criaderas y solera system, which gives it complexity, smoothness and an elegant balance between sweetness and fresh acidity.
In the glass, it reveals a light amber color with copper tones. The aroma is dominated by orange blossom, honeysuckle, honey, citrus peel, raisins, figs, apricots and caramel, complemented by subtle notes of coffee, chocolate and spices. The wine is rich, velvety and sweet, yet perfectly balanced with refreshing acidity, keeping it lively and light. The aftertaste is long, full of dried fruit, honey and caramelized citrus notes.
It is recommended to serve lightly chilled – at a temperature of 10–12 °C. This sherry goes well with fruit desserts, lemon or orange tarts, vanilla ice cream, sorbets, crème brûlée, blue cheeses, foie gras and roasted nuts.
