Red dry
The grape juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine then undergoes a 12 to 18 month maturation process in French oak barrels (30% of which are new).
A medium-intensity, cherry-hued wine, it offers expressive aromas of dark cherries, liquorice and gentle notes of toasted spices on the nose. On the palate, the wine is complex, with firm, fine-grained tannins and fruity flavours of dark berries.
Serve at 16–18 °C with beef ribs, game stew or hard aged cheeses.
It is one of the largest and historically richest wineries in Fronsac. The winery was founded in the time of Charlemagne, in 1577. The Renaissance heritage building was rebuilt in the 19th century. and to this day is engaged in winemaking. The winery owns 65 hectares of vineyards. The soil in these areas is rich in clay, limestone and sandy rocks. Also, they are rich in old, more than 80 m. age, vines. The winery currently belongs to the Chinese business group - Brilliant Group.
