Originating from the village of Santa Catarina Minas in the Oaxaca region, "Del Maguey Arroqueno" is a unique artisanal mezcal made from slow-growing, massive Arroqueño agaves and distilled in traditional clay pots. This ancient production method gives the spirit unparalleled smoothness and a deep, earthy, and authentic flavor expression. This mezcal is dedicated to the famous biologist and explorer, Thor Heyerdahl. He is most famous for his book Kon-Tiki, which chronicled his 1947 voyage across the Pacific Ocean on a wooden raft.
The aroma reveals notes of melon, dark chocolate, and green figs, enveloped by subtle campfire smoke and the minerality of wet stones.
On the palate, it has a full body and a silky texture; dominated by accents of sweet roasted agave, savory spices, and fresh herbs, transitioning into a long, elegant clay aftertaste.
It is recommended to taste neat from a traditional copita glass at room temperature. It pairs perfectly with rich beef dishes, dark chocolate, cured ham, or aged cheeses.
