Description

For this wine, the grapes are grown in two 1er Cru vineyards (Vignerondes and Murgers) in the commune of Nuits Saint Georges, which total only 0.27ha. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 50-70% of which are new. Juicy and refreshing wine - a complex aroma, in which notes of anise and licorice can be smelled next to red and black berries. Like all typical Nuits-St-Georges wines, this one has the power and potential to ripen perfectly and gain even more complexity.

Serve at 14-16 °C with roasted duck breast, partridge or pheasant.

About brand

The roots of Domaine Michel Gros, located in Vosne-Romanée, trace back to 1830 when the first member of the Gros family settled here and established their estate in the very heart of the Côte de Nuits. Subsequent generations continued to expand the estate's holdings with dedication, which today encompass 23 hectares. The estate's distinctive pride is the Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Clos des Réas," which the Gros family has owned as a monopole since its acquisition in 1860. Today, Pierre Gros, the seventh generation of this winemaking dynasty, supported by his father Michel, continues and develops the work begun by their ancestors. Passionate yet rigorous, Pierre constantly oversees the creation of his wines, meticulously controlling all stages of production – from vine cultivation to bottling.

Domaine Michel Gros wines are characterized by elegance, subtlety, and a superb reflection of the Vosne-Romanée and other prestigious Burgundy terroirs. Great emphasis is placed on the unique character of the ‘Pinot Noir’ variety and the elegance of ‘Chardonnay’.

Red Wine is aromatic, with smooth yet firm tannins, an elegant structure, and vibrant notes of red and dark berries, spices, and earth. The wines exhibit excellent balance and a long, complex finish.
White Wine (predominantly ‘Chardonnay’) from Domaine Michel Gros displays elegance and minerality typical of the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits region. Aromas include white flowers, citrus fruits, and subtle hazelnut notes. The wine is fresh, well-balanced, and pairs beautifully with various dishes.

Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Blanc Fontaine Saint Martin is one of the estate's white vineyards, where ‘Chardonnay’ is cultivated. This vineyard is known for its unique terroir, which imparts minerality and complexity to the wine.
