Pakruojis Manor Distillery and Brewery "Old Horseradish“ (liet. "Senas Krienas") Schnapps
Horseradish – often called the Lithuanian version of wasabi – reveals its best qualities after spending a long time maturing in the soil. The key is knowing exactly when to harvest the root. The horseradish roots used in this liqueur spent at least one year absorbing flavor compounds underground. After harvesting, they are grated, then aged for two more months before the infusions are distilled in copper stills. This process ensures a bold, well-defined horseradish flavor and aroma that pairs excellently with grilled meats or smoked salmon – and adds a spicy kick to a Bloody Mary cocktail.
This drink was awarded a silver medal at the Berlin Craft Spirits Awards 2020, and also received a bronze medal at the American Distilling Institute’s international competition in the United States.
Ingredients: drinking water, grain rectified ethyl alcohol, horseradish roots (0.6%), extracts of horseradish root and red pepper, natural mustard flavoring.
