Poli Vaca Mora is a full-bodied Italian bitter liqueur (Italian amaro) with a Veneto character.
"Vaca Mora means ‘black cow’, but in the Veneto dialect it also refers to the night tram that once ran between Barsano and Bassano. This playful name perfectly reflects the character of the drink: strong, bright, with a touch of tradition and humour.
Amaro is made from a variety of herbs, roots, spices and citrus fruits infused on grappa distillate. Slowly matured to bring out each note, this drink is characterised by its naturalness - no artificial flavourings or colours.
It has an intense aroma with notes of caramelised orange peel, cinnamon, aniseed, cloves and bitter herbs. On the palate it is rich, slightly sweet, but quickly turns to a pleasant bitterness with a subtle ‘cooling’ effect. Very well balanced and long lasting.
We recommend it as an after-dinner digestif, as an ingredient in cocktails to add depth or complexity.
