"Château Ferrière" is one of the smallest yet highly regarded 3ème Grand Cru Classé (1855) wine estates in the Margaux appellation, Bordeaux region. Managed by Claire Villars-Lurton, this producer crafts a highly subtle, floral-scented, and biodynamically grown red wine. It is a true expression of elegance and purity for your glass.
Read moreThis estate is certified organic and biodynamic. The small vineyard area (about 20 hectares) allows the winemakers to pay maximum attention to every single vine. Grown in deep gravel soil that is perfect for the Cabernet Sauvignon variety, the berries are transformed into exceptionally pure wines where natural fruitiness dominates rather than the influence of oak barrels.
As befits the best Margaux wines, "Château Ferrière" features a silky texture and complex aromas of blackcurrants, violets, licorice, and gentle spices. It is a very graceful and harmonious wine with excellent potential for long-term cellaring.
Elegant Bordeaux wine demands particularly subtle dishes. It pairs perfectly with duck breast, beef fillet, wild poultry, or mushroom risotto. During a party, French cheeses and pâtés, which you can find in our wine snacks selection, will match this wine wonderfully.
Is this wine suitable for long-term collecting?
Yes, despite its initial softness, it is a Grand Cru Classé wine with an excellent acid and tannin structure, allowing it to evolve in the bottle for 15–25 years.
Who is Margaux wine best gifted to?
It is a flawless gift for wine gourmets seeking elegance and subtlety, and who appreciate sustainable, biodynamic winemaking.
