The founder and principal designer of MWD, Martins Pilens, is an architect and industrial designer who has seamlessly combined his professional expertise with a lifelong passion for wine. Having studied architecture at the renowned Bauhaus University in Weimar, he pioneered a unique design direction he calls "wine architecture"—the creation of spaces and accessories dedicated to wine culture, its presentation, and optimal storage.
All MWD products are developed with a highly adaptable principle in mind: "Start with a smaller solution, expand later, and adapt as the collection grows." Because of this, their storage systems and accessories are easily expandable, mobile, and can be customized to fit various spaces. This core philosophy gave birth to the My Wine Basket collection.
