Red dry
"Nosotros Single Vineyard Nómade Malbec" is the calling card of the "Dominio del Plata" estate and the pride of winemaker Susana Balbo.
The wine reveals aromas of blueberries, cassis, and blackberries, complemented by floral and tobacco accents that add complexity. On the palate, the wine stands out with its depth and tannin concentration. It is an intense and fruity wine with a long finish.
The 2018 Nosotros Single Vineyard Nómade Malbec was sourced from the Gualtallary vineyard, but each year it may be sourced from different vineyards, hence the "nómade" in the name.
The wine was fermented in a 6500-liter oak vat with native yeasts. It was aged for 16 months in French oak barrels (80% new, 20% second use).
Serve at 16-18 °C with grilled, roasted or smoked preparations. All sorts of meats, specially red meats and pork. Hard and smoked cheeses. Spicy or hot preparations, especially those with pepper. Grilled vegetables and funghi.
Blackberry, cedar, tobacco and tar on the nose. Flowers and citrus zest, too. It’s medium-bodied with tight, fine-grained tannins and bright acidity. Refined and so elegant, with seamless layers of fresh berries and dark spices. Great length. Drink or hold.
The 2018 Nosotros Single Vineyard Nómade Malbec was sourced from their vineyard in Gualtallary, but each year it can be sourced from different vineyards, hence the "nómade" in the name. It fermented in a 6,500-liter oak vat with indigenous yeasts and had a 30- to 35-day maceration time, then matured in French oak barrels, 80% of them new, for 16 months. This is aromatic and floral and seems to have absorbed the oak quite well. It has notes of wild herbs, spices and violets, and on the palate, it comes through as textured with chalky and fine-grained tannins. It finishes with clean and precise flavors, dry and supple. This is superb, and while it's already approachable, it should continue growing in bottle.
