Red dry
Massaya Gold Reserve Beqaa Valley 2012 is one of Massaya’s flagship wines – a complex, structured and long-lasting blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvèdre and Syrah. The wine is created according to the classic French philosophy, but with a clear Lebanese identity – warmer, spicier and more mature character.
The aroma is intense and deep: blackberries, blackcurrants, plums, complemented by notes of cocoa, cloves, smoke and toasted oak.
The wine is full-bodied, concentrated and multi-layered. Dark fruits, spices, chocolate and light tobacco nuances are felt, and the tannins are firm but ripe. The aftertaste is long.
The wine comes from the Beqaa Valley – the main wine-growing region of Lebanon, located at an altitude of about 1000 m above sea level. Warm, dry summers and cooler nights allow the grapes to fully ripen, maintaining concentration and structure.
The grapes are hand-picked, carefully selected, fermented and aged in oak barrels for around 18-24 months. This gives the wine additional complexity, structure and maturity potential.
Serve at 16-18°C with grilled meat, game, venison.
