Memel honeysuckle wine 2025 – a dry Lithuanian honeysuckle berry wine, crafted in the coastal Klaipėda region (between Priekulė and Dreverna) at the small "Memel Wine" winery, which emphasises handcraft and limited releases.
Aroma The dark-berry profile characteristic of honeysuckle berries unfolds here with restraint and precision: more freshness than sweetness, with a light herbal/forest nuance and a refreshing hint of acidity (the style is oriented towards clean aromas and balance).
Palate On the palate – a dry, structured wine, whose fullness is reinforced by 14% alcohol, while the pronounced acidity granted by the coastal climate maintains tension and gastronomic appeal. The finish is berry-driven, with a subtle, uncluttered character.
The "Memel Wine" style is shaped by the Lithuanian seaside: sea breezes, cooler summers and a longer ripening period, which give the berries brighter acidity, natural aromatic intensity and freshness. As a result, the wines here often display more "purity" and a clearer structure, rather than a sweet mass.
Serve at 14–16 °C with aged cheeses, duck or goose, roast pork or mushroom dishes.
