Description

Amorosa di Settembre is a young grappa made from the autochthonous white grape variety ‘Vespaiolo’ from the Breganze area. It is one of the most delicate and floral distillates of the Poli distillery, distinguished by its light, elegant, and exceptionally pure character. The name ‘Vespaiolo’ comes from the word vespa – wasp – as this variety is known for its highly fragrant, floral aroma that attracts insects during the harvest. It is precisely this natural aromatic expressiveness that forms the core identity of this grappa.

The first grappa made from ‘Vespaiolo’ pomace was distilled at the Poli distillery in 1983. At the time, this was an unusual decision, as white grape pomace required a different and more precise fermentation management than the red pomace more commonly used. Nevertheless, this experience became the starting point for a distillate that gradually gained increasing precision and elegance. Today, Amorosa di Settembre is artisanally distilled in small batches using a discontinuous copper still with steam pots. This method allows the fragile aromatic profile of the variety to be preserved and expressed with remarkable purity.

On the nose, Amorosa di Settembre reveals notes of fresh apricots, green apples, and pears, wrapped in the lightness of white flowers. The bouquet is pure, gentle, and spring-like in its freshness, yet never superficial. On the palate, the grappa is light, precise, and elegant, with subtle fruitiness and a very clean structure. It is not severe or angular, but a graceful young grappa in which aromatic clarity, softness, and harmonious balance are what matter most.

We recommend serving it at 10–15 °C in a tulip-shaped glass. This is a grappa that is best appreciated by those looking for a lighter, more floral, and more delicate style of distillate.

Presented in a cardboard gift box.

About brand

Poli Distillerie – A Legacy of Italian Grappa Passion Since 1898

It all began in 1898, when straw hat maker GioBatta Poli, driven by a passion for grappa, built a small still and began visiting local winemakers to distill the leftover grape pomace after winemaking. What started as a modest hobby soon became a family tradition, carried on by his sons and now passionately upheld by his grandson, Jacopo Poli – one of Italy’s most renowned modern grappa producers.

Craftsmanship and an Unwavering Commitment to Quality

At the Poli distillery, located in the Veneto region, five core principles guide every aspect of production:

  • Only fresh, healthy raw material is used – delivered daily in quantities that can be processed immediately.

  • The pomace is distilled without delay – never stored.

  • Distillation is performed using traditional copper stills and historical methods.

  • Every step is carried out with dedication and true craftsmanship.

  • Deep respect is shown to both the product and the consumer.

A Taste That Speaks for Itself

These principles enable the Poli family to produce grappas of remarkable quality – from soft and floral to more intense expressions rich in spice and fruit notes. Poli grappas and liqueurs are recognized and celebrated around the world, proudly featured on the menus of top-tier restaurants. They stand as a true symbol of Italian distilling artistry.
