Description

Cleopatra Moscato Oro is an aged grappa made from the pomace of white ‘Muscat’ grapes, in which aromatic precision, technical innovation in distillation, and an exceptionally gentle style come together. It is a distillate that reflects a more modern face of grappa: subtle, fruity, elegant, and far more refined than one might usually expect from this category of spirit. A short period of ageing in oak adds structure, yet does not overshadow its most important feature – the clear, fragrant character typical of the ‘Muscat’ variety.

The Cleopatra Oro line was born from the ambition to obtain the purest and most precise aromatic profile possible from very fresh grape pomace. This grappa is distilled using the innovative vacuum bain-marie still “Crysopea”, created by Jacopo Poli. This method makes it possible to distil at a lower temperature, thereby preserving the most delicate fruity and floral aromas, which are often lost in more conventional systems. The name “Cleopatra” is linked to the symbolism of ancient alchemy: according to tradition, Cleopatra named the first still “Crysopea”, and at the Poli distillery this name was reborn as a union of modern technology and artisanal distillation.

On the nose, Cleopatra Moscato Oro reveals notes of ripe exotic fruit – pineapple, mandarin, and mango – along with gentle hints of honey. The bouquet is warm, elegant, and exceptionally clean, recalling the lightness of a spring perfume. On the palate, the grappa is round, soft, and smooth, with subtle fruitiness, a light impression of sweetness, and a beautifully integrated note of maturity. This is not a sharp or angular grappa, but one with a silky texture, where balance, refinement, and aromatic persistence are what matter most.

We recommend serving it at 18–20 °C in a tulip-shaped glass so that its aromatic profile can unfold with precision and depth.

Presented in a metal tube gift box.

About brand

Poli Distillerie – A Legacy of Italian Grappa Passion Since 1898

It all began in 1898, when straw hat maker GioBatta Poli, driven by a passion for grappa, built a small still and began visiting local winemakers to distill the leftover grape pomace after winemaking. What started as a modest hobby soon became a family tradition, carried on by his sons and now passionately upheld by his grandson, Jacopo Poli – one of Italy’s most renowned modern grappa producers.

Craftsmanship and an Unwavering Commitment to Quality

At the Poli distillery, located in the Veneto region, five core principles guide every aspect of production:

  • Only fresh, healthy raw material is used – delivered daily in quantities that can be processed immediately.

  • The pomace is distilled without delay – never stored.

  • Distillation is performed using traditional copper stills and historical methods.

  • Every step is carried out with dedication and true craftsmanship.

  • Deep respect is shown to both the product and the consumer.

A Taste That Speaks for Itself

These principles enable the Poli family to produce grappas of remarkable quality – from soft and floral to more intense expressions rich in spice and fruit notes. Poli grappas and liqueurs are recognized and celebrated around the world, proudly featured on the menus of top-tier restaurants. They stand as a true symbol of Italian distilling artistry.
