Poli Herbalis is an Italian bitter liqueur (amaro) where the tradition of officinal herbs meets citrus freshness and the warmth of a mature distillate. It is a digestif-style spirit that evokes a calm walk through a botanical garden: fragrant, herbal, and harmonious.
This amaro is made from a natural infusion of fifteen botanicals, herbs, and flowers in brandy aged for 3 years. Its composition includes artichoke leaves, sage, rosemary, oregano, orange and lemon peels, Roman absinth flowers, coriander seeds, and fennel. This combination reflects the long-standing tradition of herbal liqueurs, where not only aromatic complexity matters, but also a balanced character well suited for after-dinner enjoyment. It is an elegant, refined amaro, created in the spirit of officinal botanicals, where each ingredient plays its own natural role in the balance of aroma and flavour.
On the nose, it reveals layers of dried and fresh herbs, hints of honey, and Mediterranean citrus notes. On the palate, it is rich, herbal, and gently bitter without being harsh, with a floral purity, the warmth of spices, and a refreshing citrus lift. The finish is long, clean, and pleasantly bitter.
We recommend serving Poli Herbalis at 10–15 °C. It is excellent after dinner as a digestif, while its herbal and citrus profile also makes it an interesting ingredient in both classic and contemporary cocktails.
Poli Distillerie – A Legacy of Italian Grappa Passion Since 1898
It all began in 1898, when straw hat maker GioBatta Poli, driven by a passion for grappa, built a small still and began visiting local winemakers to distill the leftover grape pomace after winemaking. What started as a modest hobby soon became a family tradition, carried on by his sons and now passionately upheld by his grandson, Jacopo Poli – one of Italy’s most renowned modern grappa producers.
Craftsmanship and an Unwavering Commitment to Quality
At the Poli distillery, located in the Veneto region, five core principles guide every aspect of production:
Only fresh, healthy raw material is used – delivered daily in quantities that can be processed immediately.
The pomace is distilled without delay – never stored.
Distillation is performed using traditional copper stills and historical methods.
Every step is carried out with dedication and true craftsmanship.
Deep respect is shown to both the product and the consumer.
A Taste That Speaks for Itself
These principles enable the Poli family to produce grappas of remarkable quality – from soft and floral to more intense expressions rich in spice and fruit notes. Poli grappas and liqueurs are recognized and celebrated around the world, proudly featured on the menus of top-tier restaurants. They stand as a true symbol of Italian distilling artistry.
