150,00

Description

This incredibly rare 1964 vintage, grown in the sandy soils of Bas-Armagnac, delivers a highly concentrated tasting experience from "Château de Gaube," aged for decades in oak barrels.

The bouquet is dominated by intense scents of baked apples, toasted almonds, licorice, and tobacco leaves.

The palate is full and round, harmoniously blending oak tannins, candied oranges, and warm cinnamon, leaving an unforgettable, spicy trail. Ideal for slow sipping at room temperature to experience the full evolution of the spirit in the glass.

It wonderfully accompanies black coffee, aged cheeses, or high-quality chocolate with nuts.

About brand

Darroze in the world of Armagnac stands for far more than quality — it represents a philosophy. It is a family story spanning more than a century and one of the most authentic expressions of the Gascony region.

The story began at the end of the 19th century, when the Darroze family started working with local winegrowers in Gascony. However, it was in the mid-20th century, thanks to Francis Darroze, that the house took on its present identity. He understood that the true value of Armagnac lies not in volume or blending for consistency, but in specific places, soils, vintages, and the human hand behind them.

Darroze Armagnac is never blended to achieve a uniform taste profile. Each bottle reflects a single estate, a single harvest, and a single story. It is a spirit that evolves, matures, and gains complexity with time. For this reason, Darroze is often compared to great wines rather than industrial spirits.

Most Darroze Armagnacs come from the Bas-Armagnac region, considered the most refined and elegant part of the appellation. The sandy and clay-rich soils give the distillates their signature softness, aromatic depth, and long aging potential. Distillation is carried out using the traditional continuous column still, followed by slow, natural maturation in French oak barrels.

Today, Darroze is regarded as one of the most important guardians of traditional Armagnac. Its creations are highly valued by collectors, sommeliers, and spirits enthusiasts around the world.

This is not a mass-produced spirit — it is a living piece of Gascony’s history in a glass.
