For those seeking a distinguished Bordeaux experience, Château Cos Labory Saint-Estèphe Grand Cru AOC 2022 offers exceptional value as a 5th Classified Growth from a renowned appellation. Its classic structure and expressive character make it a captivating choice for any cellar or special occasion.
Château Cos Labory, located in Bordeaux's Saint-Estèphe appellation on the Left Bank, gets its name from "caux," meaning "stony hill," aptly referring to its position on the gravelly "Cos" hill.
This wine displays an intense ruby color and a charming aromatic bouquet of plum jam, black cherries, licorice, tobacco, and black tea. On the palate, it's beautifully balanced and quite smooth.
Château Cos Labory 2022 is a Saint-Estèphe wine from a 35-hectare vineyard with an average vine age of 38 years. This 5th Classified Growth of the Médoc is planted on Gunzian gravel soils over a marl-limestone base, providing remarkable drainage and helping regulate water needs during dry periods. With a planting density of 8,700 vines per hectare, the vineyard thrives.
Grapes are hand-picked and the wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 to 15 months, with 30% to 50% new barrels used each year.
Serves 16-18°C with venison roast with lingonberries, venison goulash, beef stew with mushrooms, Moroccan beef with plums, beef steaks, mature cheeses.
