Description

Step into history with Château Pape Clément, a legendary red Bordeaux from one of the region's oldest wine estates, with harvests dating back to 1252. This exceptional wine, named after Pope Clement V himself, offers a remarkable balance, structure, and intense black fruit concentration.

This wine's nose combines alluring fruity fragrances of blackcurrant, blackberry, and morello cherry with delicate floral notes like violet and liquorice. Of great elegance, the palate seduces with its fine tannins, remarkable freshness, and exceptional length.

The vines, averaging 31 years old, thrive on unique Pyrenean clayey gravel soils. The vineyard is managed with meticulous care on a micro-plot basis, ensuring optimal quality from each section. Furthermore, the Château Pape Clément estate is certified High Environmental Value 3, underscoring its commitment to sustainable practices.

The winemaking process begins with grapes harvested by hand in crates, undergoing an initial sorting directly in the vineyard. This is followed by manual destemming and a second, rigorous sorting on the table. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barrels, as does the 18-month aging period.
