Description

Clos Apalta Le Petit Clos 2018 is an elegant Chilean red wine where the mastery of French winemaking meets the sun-ripened richness of South American grapes. The wine is crafted in the prestigious Apalta Valley.

The wine entices with a dark ruby color and a rich aroma, intertwining raspberries, blackcurrants, and cherries with subtle notes of cedar, cocoa, and smoke. On the palate, a balanced structure unfolds – silky tannins, a juicy texture, and a long, spicy finish with a slightly mineral undertone.

The blend (Carmenère 53%, Cabernet Sauvignon 32%, Merlot 12%, Petit Verdot 3%) was aged for 22 months in oak barrels, which imparts exceptional complexity and depth to the wine.

"Le Petit Clos" is an excellent choice for those seeking an expressive yet elegant wine, suitable for both dinner and long-term cellaring.

Serving recommendations

Serve at 16-18°C with lamb roast, game stew with wild mushrooms, dark chocolate.

About brand

It is rare for a place to be able to captivate a person so immediately, with so much force. It was 1994. After months of research, Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle and her husband, Cyril de Bournet, discovered the Apalta Valley. A fine, golden light embraced the vineyard whilst hundred-year old-vines stood, intertwining majestically. Harmony had taken residence here. Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle knew that Clos Apalta could bring about the joyful encapsulation of this breathtaking landscape. As the terroir is a living matter, Clos Apalta has opened up to organics in the gentlest possible way. From then on, helping to preserve the natural and pure feel of the different terroirs became an absolute priority. The vineyard receives the best care possible.
