White dry
Clos Mogador Nelin Blanco 2020 is an elegant and distinctive white wine from Spain's Priorat region (DOQ), crafted by one of Priorat's most renowned winemakers — René Barbier. This wine is deep and complex, made from a carefully selected blend of white grape varieties grown under biodynamic practices in the hilly Priorat terroir.
Clos Mogador Nelin 2020 reveals a complex aromatic profile unfolding with white tropical fruits, citrus, herbs and subtle notes of honey. On the palate — an expressive structure, balanced acidity, warm mineral texture, and a long, elegant finish.
Fermentation was carried out in stainless steel tanks and 500 l oak barrels with native yeasts. The wine was aged for 12 months in 1200 l oak barrels and 6 months in stainless steel tanks.
Serve at 10–12 °C with seafood, scallops, oysters, richer white fish such as cod or sea bass, mild cheeses such as Manchego or goat's cheese, and creamy risotto or pasta dishes.
Medium gold hue. Complex and intense with a subtle note of croissant-like pastry to the Mediterranean spices, stones, tropical fruit, yellow nectarines with a hint of oxidative complexity that touches the sweet spot. A hint of honey, too. Full-bodied and voluminous with solid structure on the palate. Some tannins and fresh acidity go hand in hand. What a serious but fun white to enjoy now. Macabeo, pansal, picapoll blanc, cartoixa and others.
Clos Mogador is one of the most respected and influential wineries in Spain, located in the renowned Priorat DOQ region. Founded by the celebrated winemaker René Barbier, Clos Mogador not only elevated the global reputation of Priorat wines but also became a symbol of the region’s modern revival.
Clos Mogador is rooted in natural winemaking, a deep connection to the land, and profound respect for nature. René Barbier was one of the so-called “Priorat revolutionaries” — a group of visionary winemakers who, in the 1980s, revived a nearly forgotten region and proved that world-class wines could be produced there.
