Red dry
Domaine Bertagna Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts is a compelling interpretation of one of Burgundy’s most sought-after Premier Cru terroirs.
The aroma раскрыles with notes of fresh cherries, raspberries, and red currants, complemented by a vivid thread of minerality. With age, the wine develops subtle cocoa nuances, adding depth and elegance. On the palate, it shows a smooth, beautifully balanced structure, polished tannins, and a refined, long-lasting finish.
The vineyard is located above the prestigious Échezeaux Grand Cru, near Richebourg, on a stony slope composed of red, mineral-rich clay. These conditions provide excellent drainage and create ideal growing conditions for Pinot Noir.
The 0.92-hectare plot is meticulously cared for throughout the season. Grapes are hand-harvested, carefully sorted both in the vineyard and at the winery, and fermented using only indigenous yeasts. After cold maceration, fermentation lasts 21–28 days.
The wine is aged for 15–18 months in French oak barrels, about 30% new oak, allowing it to retain a perfect balance between structure, elegance, and terroir expression.
Serve at 16–18 °C to reveal the wine’s full aromatic range and velvety structure. This is a wine that combines power and precision – a perfect match for duck breast in cherry sauce, roast goose, or veal loin with mushroom sauce.
Domaine Bertagna is a historic estate located in the village of Vougeot, in the heart of Burgundy, whose story has been shaped for five generations by the Reh family. The history of Clos de Vougeot is closely linked to the Cistercian monks of the Cîteaux Abbey, who established and elevated this legendary site as early as the 12th century.
Although the Reh family owns several wine estates worldwide — including the renowned Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt in Germany’s Mosel–Saar–Ruwer region — Domaine Bertagna was acquired in 1982, and in 1988 the estate came under the leadership of the dynamic Eva Reh.
Under Eva’s direction, Domaine Bertagna places strong emphasis on fermentation precision and modern vineyard management. The winemaking philosophy focuses on expressing terroir purity, fruit clarity, aromatic intensity, elegance, longevity, and subtle oak integration.
These are precise, classically styled Burgundy wines, faithfully expressing their origin.
