Although Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet borders the famous Bâtard-Montrachet vineyard, the microclimate and soil structure here result in a slightly more subtle and graceful wine style.
The wines of this appellation are characterized by concentration and depth of aromas. Young wine is dominated by notes of white flowers, citrus fruits, and fresh almonds. After several years of aging in oak barrels and bottles, the wine develops complex aromas of honey, butter, and roasted nuts. Due to high natural acidity and firm structure, these Burgundy wines can be aged for 10–20 years or even more.
